Jimothy, the viral raccoon, becomes a pet in Guild Wars 2, WoW, and AQ3D

The short-spined raccoon that took over the internet now shows up as a mini and a collectible pet across three MMOs. Yes, it's as absurd as it sounds.

The meme just went official: Guild Wars 2, World of Warcraft, and AdventureQuest 3D have confirmed pets based on Jimothy, Seattle's viral raccoon. Let's be upfront: this is pure community humor, not weighty content — but it's one of those rare moments where three very different MMOs line up to honor the same critter.

Who is Jimothy?

Jimothy is a Seattle street raccoon, likely born with short spine syndrome, who went worldwide off a single viral clip. The fun twist: the person who filmed and named him is the spouse of an ArenaNet developer. The craze got big enough that the raccoon even landed an official Dungeons & Dragons stat block. Per Massively OP's roundup, what began as fan mock-ups and studio jokes from the likes of Old School RuneScape has now turned into actual pets.

In Guild Wars 2, the Jimothy mini arrives on August 11: you'll have to track him down in Lion's Arch to unlock him, according to MMORPG.com. ArenaNet paired the reveal with an on-brand gag: "Seattleites, please admire Jimothy from a distance. Tyrians, you can approach him in-game, where it's safe."

In World of Warcraft he'll be an earnable companion pet, and he's aiming to land with the next update, Curse of Ula'tek, slated for August 11, 2026 — though Blizzard hasn't spelled out how you'll get him yet. AdventureQuest 3D jumped in too, confirming its own take on the raccoon.

Don't expect a new system or anything that changes how you play: these are cosmetics and a community wink, nothing more. But as an excuse for three very different MMOs to drop a scrungly raccoon at almost the same time, it's hard to ask for anything more endearing.
