Fellowship
About the game
Fellowship is a co-op online dungeon adventure from Chief Rebel, a studio staffed by veterans of World of Warcraft, Diablo IV and Helldivers 2. Its pitch is as simple as it is bold: keep the best part of WoW's Mythic+ dungeons —the tactical challenge of a tightly coordinated group— and drop everything else an MMO usually asks of you. You play in teams of four built on the classic holy trinity of one tank, one healer and two DPS, picking from a roster of fixed-role heroes you can swap between runs.
How it plays
Each run is a roughly fifteen-minute dungeon that scales in difficulty with no ceiling, backed by leagues, seasons and leaderboards that reward execution over hours logged. There's no open world to trek across and no endless farming: you drop in, chain cooldowns and interrupts against dangerous bosses and trash, and get out. In effect it's an MMO's endgame loop distilled to its most direct form.
That focus makes it just as comfortable for the veteran chasing quick, high-skill runs as for the player the genre's time demands always scared off. The learning curve lives in group coordination and mastering each hero, not in the clock.

What you pay for, and what you don't
Fellowship is Buy to Play: a single purchase on Steam —base price $24.99— with no subscription. Through Early Access it saw frequent discounts and dropped to around half price at times. Heroes and progression are unlocked by playing; the cosmetics shop (hero skins, transmog) is optional and has no effect on performance. It's published by Coffee Stain Publishing and Arc Games.
Where it stands
The game has been in Early Access since October 16, 2025, with an active roadmap. The launch was massive —an all-time peak of roughly 43,700 concurrent players, over 7 million hours played and 9 million dungeons cleared in the first month— though the population fell sharply afterward, hovering around a thousand concurrents by mid-2026. Chief Rebel updates the game season by season.
Season 2 (February 2026) added two heroes —the healer Aeona and the paladin-tank Xavian— plus the starter zone Woodland Glade. Season 3, 'Rise of the Heskyr' (June 22, 2026), brought the hero Gunde, three new dungeons and the 'Loot 2.0' loot overhaul that answered the launch's most repeated complaint. On Steam it holds 'Mostly Positive' reviews (~78%).

Who it's for (and who it isn't)
Fellowship is for the player who loves an MMO's endgame —reading mechanics, the perfect run, the endless climb— but doesn't want the rest of the package. If you're after story, an open world or a broad social layer, you won't find it here: the game is deliberately narrow in focus. And it's worth being honest about its state: this is Early Access, with content still being built and a population that thinned out after the initial rush, so group availability can vary by time of day. For the player the formula clicks with, though, it's one of the genre's purest expressions.
